I bet we have heard this nursery rhyme before. This was what A'sha and mommy was singing before bed last night. One, two, buckle my shoe; Three, four, shut the door; Five, six, pick up sticks; Seven, eight, lay them straight; Nine, ten, a big fat hen. Then what? The counting goes on and on from my baby's lips. Asha: "11..12..13..14..15..16..17..18..19..20.." I thought that was it. She continues counting. "..21..22..23..24..25..26..27..28..29..thirteen.." Mommy: "thirty.." Asha: "ok.. Thirty..31..32..33..34..35..36..37..38..39..fourteen" Mommy: "FOURTY" The counting goes on until number Fifty. Wow! My 3-year-old girl could count until 50? With clear, correct pronunciation and sequence! How I underestimated her all this while. I was thinking she could only count up until 20. And that also with not a correct sequence or she may forget some numbers in between. But NO! Mommy was wrong! "Sorry baby for not putting my 100% trust in your capabilities." LESSONS LEARNED
