Welcoming 1429

This evening we will bid farewell to another year of our lives. Have we done enough deeds to prepare us for the Day of Resurrection or there were too many sins committed for the past years? Have you set your new resolution? Look back at the old ones. Have you achieved what you have aim?

This year, I will

1. Observe my five obligatory prayers.
2. Seek for useful knowledge and spread it.
3. Endeavor to guard my tongue against lie, gossip and immoral talk.
4. Fear Allâh in all that me and my family eat and drink.
5. Abstain from all forbidden things.
6. Be kind to my parents and to my kith and kin.
7. Do well to all people and free my heart from jealousy and hatred.
8. Beware of bad thing about others.
9. Promote good and forbid evil.
10. Carry out my obligations towards my spouses and children in the best possible way
11. Guard my eyes from looking at forbidden things.

How beautiful it will be if this New Year is made a positive turning point in the lives of world communities where women properly cover themselves according to the injunctions of Allâh and in following the Sunnah of His Messenger. Each day in which the sun sets it reminds you that your lifespan is diminishing. The wise is the one who learns from his yesterday, struggles for his present day and provides for his tomorrow. The best provision is piety. Allâh says,

“O you who believe! Fear Allâh and keep your duty to Him. And let every person look to what he has sent forth for the morrow, and fear Allâh. Verily, Allâh is All-Aware of what you do.” (Al-Hashr 59:18)

May this coming year will always be blessed by His Almighty. Ameen.
